Services

At CI our aim is to make everyone’s life easier. Whatever the size of project, we can provide the level of service required. For example, if you are planning a large project, our service often extends through all phases from planning right through to installation and completion.

Each product area has a specialist attached to it who will become your main point of contact to ensure continuity. He or she will liaise between client, architect, tradesmen and project managers.

Other members of the team will support different aspects as needed.

Process

Our offices generally take 12 - 16 weeks from signed order confirmation to completed installation.

The typical process will be as follows:

Showroom visit – We strive to create an inspiring and informative environment in our showroom and feel that all our customers should visit us to familiarise themselves with the products that we have available.

Designer meeting – We feel that this is the most important part of the process and it is vital that we spend some time with you discussing your aims for you new kitchen. At this stage it is all about looking at your lifestyle, your preferred furniture style and your appliance wish list. We would normally allow approximately 2 hours for this meeting. It would help us greatly if you were able to provide us with room dimensions. We will be able to give you an estimated costing at this stage.

Site visit – This is not always necessary, if you have been able to provide us with room dimensions. If you would prefer us to visit you at home and take the dimensions, then we will be pleased to do this.

Preparation of design and artistic drawings – At this point we make a charge of £200, which is redeemable against your order. This enables our designer to put the time and effort into ensuring we match your requirements and produce a design we are proud of.

Presentation – Ideally we would present our designs to you in our showroom so that we can show you examples and accommodate any amendments as quickly as possible. This design is still based on artistic impressions. In order to progress to the next stage of technical drawings we will ask you for a 10% deposit towards your kitchen.

Preparation of technical working drawings – At this stage our installation manager would visit your site to confirm dimensions and familiarise himself with any installation issues. He would also be able to advise on any additional costs to installation e.g. electrical or plumbing works that are not covered in the standard installation remit. In light of this information we can amend the plans to incorporate any changes that have been identified. Only when you are completely satisfied will we ask you to sign off the final technical drawings and your furniture will be put into production. Your delivery dates and proposed installation schedule will then be agreed with you. At this stage a further 40% payment will be required.

Regular contact – Our installation manager will liaise with you to ensure that as far as possible we remain on schedule. Please bear in mind that with a busy works diary the more notice we are given about time amendments the easier it is for us to accommodate them. We will ask for a further 40% payment one week prior to the delivery of your furniture.

Installation – The intangible part of any installation is the length of time necessary to prepare a room. However, from prepared room, our installation team typically takes 1-2 weeks to install the furniture and template the worktops. The granite or other work surface will then be cut or produced, which can take up to 2 weeks. Our installation team will return to fit the work surface and complete any outstanding installation to furniture and appliances usually within one week. Giving a total time of approximately 4 weeks.

Inevitably the installation period is a period of disruption and every kitchen is individual and raises its own issues. Rest assured that we will do our utmost to ensure that the disruption is kept to a minimum and your kitchen is installed in the quickest time possible.

Completion – On completion our installation manager will check the kitchen with you to ensure that you are completely happy with the work and that any outstanding issues are identified and attended to. Only then will we request the final 10% balance payment.
